X-Files News
Leyla Harrison, an established fanfic writer, passed away on Saturday from melanoma. Instead of flowers, Leyla's family asked that contributions be given in Leila's name to Norris Cotton Cancer Center, One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH, 03756. Leyla will be missed tremendously; may she rest in peace.

Dean Haglund and Tom Braidwood will appear at the Los Angeles Comic Book and Science Fiction Convention on Sunday, February 11. According to Reuters, Laurie Holden, who portrays Marita Covarrubias on The X-Files, will star opposite Jim Carrey in The Majestic, a film about ambitious Hollywood screenwriter (Carrey) who loses his job and his identity, only to find new courage and conviction through the love of a woman (Holden) in a small town. The Majestic is directed by Frank Darabont, whose credits include The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. Production begins in March in Northern California, and the film will open under Warner Brothers for Christmas 2001.
